We are seeking a Regulatory Compliance Engineer to join our engineering team and support the design, manufacturing, and certification of emergency vehicles in compliance with federal, state, and industry standards. This role works cross-functionally with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to ensure our ambulances meet all applicable regulatory and safety requirements from initial build through final sale.

Brief Description:
· Support compliance efforts related to F/CMVSS (Federal/Canadian Motor Vehicle Safety Standards) and applicable EMS and rescue vehicle certification requirements
· Test and validate crimping and wire termination practices against industry standards (e.g., SAE, UL, or manufacturer-specified pull-test and crimp-quality requirements)
· Review welding procedures and documentation** for structural and body components against applicable codes (e.g., CWB standards), coordinating with certified welding inspectors as needed
· Maintain and organize compliance documentation, compliance calendar, test reports, and certification records to support audits and regulatory submissions
· Communicate and provide information to engineering and manufacturing teams early in the design/build process to flag compliance risks before they become costly rework
· Track changes to relevant regulations and standards (FMVSS, NFPA, state EMS requirements) and communicate impacts to the team
· Support internal and third-party audits and inspections
· Prepare certification and conformance documentation (final sign-off authority may sit with a senior engineer or compliance lead, depending on team structure)
Requirements:
· 2+ years of experience in mechanical or industrial engineering, regulatory compliance, quality, or a related technical role.
· Comfortable splitting time between the shop floor and documentation/desk work
· Strong attention to detail and comfort working with technical standards documents
· Good written communication skills — you'll be documenting findings and coordinating with multiple teams
· Mechanical or Industrial Engineering degree.
· Experience in Project Management or Coordination.
· Comfortable with CAD software, Microsoft Office Suite, ERP systems, and various other computer functions.
· Good time management skills are very important.
· Good communications skills, both written and verbal
Pay: $60,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
