General Labour – Construction (Concrete)
Pay: $20.00 per hour
Job Type: Temporary / Contract, 40 hours per week.
Schedule: Monday to Friday, with potential Saturday and/or Sunday shifts depending on weather and project requirements.
Job Summary
We are currently seeking hardworking and reliable General Labourers to support concrete construction projects. This role involves assisting with concrete pouring, finishing, screeding, material handling, and general site cleanup. Candidates must be comfortable performing physically demanding work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with construction or concrete experience who enjoy hands-on work and working as part of a team.
Responsibilities
- Assist with concrete pouring, placement, and finishing activities.
- Push a 55 lb wheelbarrow to transport concrete and construction materials across the job site for extended periods.
- Perform concrete labour duties including:
- Troweling
- Screeding
- Spreading and leveling concrete evenly
- Operate hand tools and equipment used for concrete work.
- Follow all site safety procedures and wear required PPE at all times.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Load, unload, and move construction materials as required.
- Perform other general labour duties assigned by the site supervisor.
- Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation, or be able to commute independently to various job sites as assigned.
- Must be willing and able to travel to different work locations/worksites as project needs change.
Qualifications
- Previous construction or concrete experience is an asset.
- Ability to safely use a wheelbarrow and basic concrete tools.
- Strong work ethic and willingness to perform manual labour.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Capable of working 8–12 hour shifts as required.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials weighing up to 55 lbs.
- Strong attention to safety and teamwork.
Physical Requirements
- Frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling of up to 55 lbs.
- Standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and repetitive movement throughout the shift.
- Ability to perform physically demanding work for extended periods.
