The Cleaner is responsible for maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and sanitation throughout assigned residential units and common areas of the properties. This includes turnovers, routine in-suite cleaning, and maintaining cleanliness in hallways, stairwells, lobbies and amenity spaces.
This role will work Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm, with opportunities for overtime.
Responsibilities
- Perform cleaning duties in vacant units, including kitchens, bathrooms, floors, windows and appliances, assist with month-end cleaning of turnover units.
- Clean and sanitize common areas including hallways, stairwells, lobbies and entrances, mechanical and electrical rooms.
- Empty trash and recycling bins and ensure proper disposal of waste, assist with exterior garbage pickup.
- Replenish cleaning supplies and notify the supervisor of inventory needs.
- Follow health and safety regulations and procedures when handling cleaning supplies and chemicals.
- Report maintenance issues, damage or unsafe conditions to the Maintenance Team.
- Assist with cleaning for special events or emergency situations (e.g. floods, accidents).
- Ensure secure handling of keys and entry to tenant units when applicable.
- Maintain positive interactions with tenants, staff, and contractors.
- Other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications and experience
- A valid, unrestricted Manitoba Class 5 Drivers License and reliable vehicle is required
- Clear Criminal Record is required
- Previous experience in residential or commercial cleaning
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Comfortable using cleaning chemicals, supplies, and equipment in a variety of indoor and outdoor environments
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and lift up to 25 lbs
- Good communication (both verbal and written), interpersonal and organizational skills as well as professionalism in dealing with tenants
