We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Residential Painter to join our team in Winnipeg. The successful candidate will perform professional interior and exterior painting services in residential homes. Main duties include:
- Prepare, clean, and sand surfaces using scrapers, sandpaper, and power tools to remove old paint and wallpaper.
- Repair cracks and holes in drywall, plaster, and stucco using putty, plaster, or drywall compounds.
- Mix, match, and thin paint to obtain desired colors and textures.
- Measure, cut, and apply wallpaper or fabric wallcoverings to walls if required.
- Apply paint, varnish, stain, enamel, or other finishes to residential interior/exterior walls, ceilings, trim, and decks using brushes, rollers, or airless spray equipment.
- Advise consumers on color selection and choice of wallcoverings.
- Erect scaffolding, staging, and set up extension ladders safely to paint exterior structures.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment, ensuring furniture and floors are properly masked and protected.
Employment Requirements (Qualifications):
- Education: No formal education degree required.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 to 3 years of professional residential painting experience (interior and exterior) is strictly required.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in professional surface preparation (caulking, patching, taping, sanding).
- Excellent brush and roller techniques for high-end residential finishes (sharp cutting-in/edging is mandatory).
- Experience with airless paint spraying systems is considered a strong asset.
- Physical & Safety Standards:
- Must be physically fit and able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs regularly.
- Must be comfortable working at heights on tall extension ladders and scaffolding.
- Valid Fall Protection / Working at Heights certification is highly preferred.
- Other Requirements:
- Must have own reliable transportation to travel to changing residential project sites across Winnipeg.
- Strong work ethic, punctuality, and ability to maintain a professional demeanor when working inside clients' occupied homes.
