Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Dispatcher to coordinate transportation and logistics operations within our supply chain. The ideal candidate will manage freight scheduling, communicate effectively with carriers and clients, and utilize various transportation management systems to ensure timely delivery. This role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment supporting shipping, receiving, and overall supply chain efficiency.
This position plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our logistics network by coordinating shipments efficiently while maintaining high standards of communication and data accuracy.
Duties
- Manage shipping and receiving operations, ensuring accurate data entry and documentation.
- Communicate with carriers, drivers, and clients via multi-line phone systems, demonstrating excellent phone etiquette and communication skills.
- Monitor freight movements, analyze logistics data to identify efficiencies or issues, and provide solutions to optimize supply chain performance.
- Maintain accurate records of shipments, deliveries, and related activities through data entry and analysis tools.
- Collaborate with warehouse staff on shipping & receiving schedules to meet operational deadlines.
- Utilize analysis skills to troubleshoot delays or discrepancies in freight or supply chain processes.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies during all dispatch activities.
Qualifications
- Experience Required: 1-2 years in dispatch, planning, or logistics coordination.
- Strong understanding of supply chain processes, including freight management and shipping & receiving procedures.
- Must be a team player and cooperative.
- Proficient in email writing and good communication skills.
- Excellent data entry skills with high typing speed; proficient in multi-line phone systems.
- Strong analysis skills to interpret logistics data and resolve issues efficiently.
- Effective communication skills with professional phone etiquette for interacting with carriers, drivers, and internal teams.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
