Accounts Payable & Bookkeeping Associate

This is a 12-month contract position with the possibility of extension.
About the Opportunity
Ledge Forty is seeking a detail-oriented accounting professional to support a portfolio of clients with day-to-day financial operations, bookkeeping support, and payment administration. This position is suited for someone comfortable working in a fast-paced remote environment while managing multiple client files and competing priorities.
The successful candidate will work closely with internal team members and external clients to maintain organized financial records, support reporting processes, and ensure accounting workflows are completed accurately and on schedule.
Key Responsibilities
Client Accounting Operations
- Manage incoming and outgoing invoice processing for multiple client accounts
- Coordinate payment scheduling, vendor remittances, and customer billing activities
- Review transactions for accuracy, approvals, and supporting documentation
- Monitor account balances and assist with banking-related administrative tasks
- Maintain organized records of payments, invoices, and supporting financial documents
- Respond to client inquiries regarding billing, payments, and account activity
Bookkeeping & Reconciliations
- Perform routine bookkeeping functions and account reconciliations
- Maintain financial records across bank, credit card, receivable, payable, and general ledger accounts
- Assist with month-end close procedures and adjusting entries
- Record and organize financial data from cloud-based accounting systems and external platforms
- Support indirect tax tracking and related reporting requirements
- Identify discrepancies and assist in resolving accounting irregularities
Systems & Process Support
- Assist with improving internal workflows and financial administration procedures
- Support onboarding of new client accounts and documentation of recurring processes
- Participate in software implementation, migration, and integration projects
- Provide backup support for team members during absences or high-volume periods
- Collaborate with colleagues to improve consistency, efficiency, and service delivery
Qualifications
- Diploma, certificate, or practical experience in bookkeeping, accounting, finance, or business administration
- Experience working with cloud accounting software and digital bookkeeping systems
- Familiarity with platforms such as Xero, QuickBooks Online, Dext, or similar applications
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage deadlines across multiple files
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
- Comfortable working independently in a remote setting
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and/or Google Workspace tools

Pay: $50,000.00-$60,000.00 per year
