What You’ll Do
This role is well suited to someone who enjoys coordinating details, supporting exercises and response planning, and turning complex information into practical tools. You will:
- Support operational and Incident Management Team drills, including scenario design, objectives, logistics, and resource coordination.
- Coordinate with internal teams and external partners to translate planning requirements into practical tools, documentation, and readiness improvements.
- Support debriefs, after-action reporting, corrective action tracking, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Provide Planning Section support within the Incident Command System during exercises and responses, as required.
- Assist with response planning documents, including GRPs, GRS products, and Coastal Response Program materials.
What You Bring
You bring sound judgment, strong communication skills, and the ability to manage shifting priorities in a dynamic operational environment.
- Post-secondary education in environmental science, geography, emergency management, marine studies, or a related field.
- 3–5 years of experience in emergency management, spill response, operational planning, project coordination, or a related field.
- Strong organizational and project coordination skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, including clear, structured documentation.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and collaboration tools.
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence in good standing.
- Willingness to travel for business needs, including occasional field work in remote locations.
Additional Assets
- Experience supporting exercises, drills, or training programs.
- Familiarity with Incident Command System principles and emergency response structures.
- Experience in a marine, environmental, or coastal response setting.
