Job Overview
THM Fabrication Ltd. is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Structural Fitter/Welder to join our dynamic manufacturing and construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for assembling, fitting, and welding structural components with precision and efficiency. Your expertise will ensure the integrity and safety of complex assemblies used in various industrial and construction projects. Duties
- Review drawings and discuss them with management as required
- Plan the sequence of tasks
- Use metal-working machines and cutting torches to cut steel, drill or punch holes, and roll, bend or press steel into the desired shapes
- Assemble and fit metal sections and plates together to form complete units or sub-units
- Fasten components together (by mechanical means or tack weld) in preparation for a welder to complete the process
- Always Maintain Quality in the work in compliance with THM’s Quality Program
- Always Work in a safe manner and follow all safety protocols in compliance with THM’s Safety Program
- Gather tools and equipment, clean work areas ensuring the area is free of debris and hazards
Qualifications
- Journeyman, and/or Red Seal Metal Fabricator Fitter Certification
- Read and Interpret Blueprints and specifications to layout the work
- Read, Write, and comprehension
- Comprehension of Structural Codes & Standards
- Mathematical Aptitude
- Use of a Tape Measure and Accuracy
- Use of Oxy-Fuel Cutting Equipment & Tack Welding
- Safety Attitude cohesive to the THM Company’s code of conduct
- Knowledge and Understanding of all applicable Personal Protective Equipment for tasks required
