We are seeking a reliable, customer-focused Part-Time Retail Associate to join our team. This permanent position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with both people and pets and has previous experience in retail and animal care.
Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional customer service and assist customers with product selection and purchases.
- Share knowledge and recommendations on pet products, nutrition, and general pet care.
- Process sales transactions accurately using the point-of-sale system.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked sales floor.
- Receive, unpack, and merchandise inventory.
- Support the care and wellbeing of animals in-store (if applicable).
- Follow store policies and procedures, including health and safety standards.
- Assist with opening and closing duties as required.
Qualifications
Required:
- Previous retail experience.
- Previous pet care experience (personal, professional, volunteer, kennel, veterinary clinic, pet store, animal rescue, etc.).
- Availability to work evenings and weekends.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and stand for extended periods.
- Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
Preferred:
- Experience in a pet retail environment.
- Knowledge of pet nutrition and animal health products.
