Good Dog has an immediate opening for a Dog Grooming Assistant in our Port Moody location.
The Grooming Assistant is responsible for bathing, drying, and finishing dogs as they are scheduled, supporting the grooming team by ensuring every dog receives a safe and positive grooming experience, and cleaning/maintenance of grooming spaces and equipment.
Start Date: Immediately
Days: Sat, Mon, Tues, Weds, Thurs
Pay: $18.25/hr, plus commission on each dog groomed

Responsibilities:
- Bathe, blow dry, and finish scheduled dogs
- Assist groomers in bathing and drying their dogs
- Support with stand-alone services as needed
- Prebook grooming clients for their next appointments
- Assist in answering phones, e-mails, and sms messages
- Be available to check grooming dogs in/out
- Maintain a clean and hygienic workspace and equipment
- Ensure they are adhering to the expectations of care and attention to detail.
- Continuously remain engaged and passionate in the line of work.
- Facilitate growth by encouraging clients to make use of other ranch services and propose new services to grow the business.
- Contribute to a positive and effective training experience for new employee’s
Requirements
- Animal CPR considered an asset
- Proven ability to actively engage and lead in a team environment and compliance to protocols and procedures
- Proven ability to behave with respect and compassion
- Ability to build a good rapport with animals and have a friendly and patient nature
- Possess a professional and upbeat attitude
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds or more
- Ability to read and speak English fluently
