Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Food Service Supervisor to lead our team in delivering exceptional dining experiences. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive knowledge of food preparation and safety, and a passion for hospitality. This role involves overseeing daily operations, managing staff, ensuring food quality, and maintaining high standards of customer service within a fast-paced food service environment. Previous restaurant management, supervisory experience, and familiarity with food industry standards are essential for success in this position.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily food service operations to ensure efficient workflow and excellent customer experiences
- Oversee food preparation, cooking, and presentation to maintain quality standards
- Manage POS systems such as Micros POS for order processing and cash handling
- Lead, motivate, and manage team members including interviewing, training, and scheduling staff
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and proper food handling procedures
- Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies as needed
- Handle customer inquiries and resolve complaints promptly to ensure satisfaction
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and dining areas in accordance with health regulations
- Assist in restaurant management duties including overseeing service flow, managing staff performance, and supporting hospitality initiatives
Requirements
- Proven experience in food service or restaurant management, including supervising teams in a fast-paced environment
- Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and food safety standards
- Experience with POS systems such as Micros POS or similar platforms; cash handling skills required
- Excellent leadership abilities with a focus on team management and staff development
- Background in hospitality or hotel experience is a plus; barista or serving experience is advantageous
- Ability to oversee food handling procedures while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety
- Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to handle challenging situations professionally
- Prior experience in restaurant or food industry roles such as kitchen experience or restaurant experience preferred
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a busy environment
