Gestionnaire Service
The Senior Field Service Technician role is a critical position within ABB’s Electrification Service division, focused on delivering high-quality technical services for electrical distribution infrastructure. The primary objective is to ensure the safe, efficient, and profitable execution of complex service projects involving high-, medium-, and low-voltage electrical systems. This role combines technical expertise, customer engagement, and business acumen to support ABB’s mission of ensuring reliable electrical system operation and customer satisfaction.

Technical Service Delivery

System Testing and Commissioning: Perform comprehensive testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, repairs, upgrades, and installations on a variety of electrical systems, including switchgear, transformers, protective relays, and control systems.

Project Management: Plan and execute service projects from start to finish, ensuring compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards while optimizing operational efficiency and profitability.

Diagnostics and Optimization: Leverage advanced expertise in electrical system diagnostics and protective relaying to identify and resolve complex technical issues, improving customer system performance and reliability.

Business Development and Customer Relationships

Customer Engagement: Proactively interact with customers to understand their operational needs, recommend tailored solutions, and build long-term relationships.

Opportunity Identification: Support business growth by identifying new service opportunities aligned with customer needs and company strategy.
Qualifications:

Education: College diploma or university degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.

Technical Expertise: 5+ years of hands-on experience maintaining high-, medium-, and low-voltage electrical systems, including switchgear, transformers, protective relays, and control systems.

Troubleshooting Skills: Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting abilities, with proficiency in interpreting electrical schematics and technical procedures.

Safety and Standards: In-depth understanding of electrical safety practices, industry standards, and environmental regulations.

Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both French and English, with the ability to clearly explain technical concepts to diverse audiences. English is required to communicate with customers outside of Quebec.

Travel Flexibility: Willingness to travel locally and nationally (approximately 20%), work overtime, and respond to service calls outside regular business hours as required.

Product Knowledge: Knowledge of ABB Electrification products and services, or comparable products and solutions from other manufacturers.
