Maintenance Technician

Position Type: Full-Time
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
NC Ron's Towing is looking for a reliable and motivated Maintenance Technician to join our team. This position is ideal for someone with mechanical experience who is looking to develop their skills while working alongside and under the supervision of our certified mechanic.
About the Role
As a Mechanic Assistant, you will help maintain and repair our fleet of primarily 5-ton Freightliner flatdeck trucks and related equipment. You will assist with inspections, preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and general repairs to help keep our fleet operating safely and efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Assist the certified mechanic with maintenance and repair work
- Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance
- Help diagnose mechanical issues and complete repairs
- Change fluids, filters, brakes, and other service components as required
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Follow all safety procedures and company policies
- Complete other shop and fleet maintenance duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Previous mechanical experience required
- Basic knowledge of diesel engines, truck systems, and vehicle maintenance is an asset
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Physically capable of performing shop duties and lifting parts and equipment as needed
- Valid driver's licence required
- Experience with commercial trucks or heavy-duty equipment is considered an asset
