Job Overview
Lighthouse Productions is a key player in the live entertainment scene in Western Canada, managing three venues programming and hosting 200+ events regionally along with an additional 20+ events nationally per year. Since founding in 2023 we've created and dispersed over $350,000 into the Canadian performing arts scene via performance fees, audio engineer salaries, and scholarships. We are seeking to expand into other markets in Western Canada and are looking or an energized team member to help us do so. The ideal candidate will have their finger on the pulse of the live music scene in Kelowna and a knack for creating memorable experiences. You will be responsible for planning, executing, and managing various events, along with adhering to LHP's principals and mission as a third party agency between artists and venues.
Responsibilities
- Plan and coordinate all aspects of events, including logistics, venue selection, and live music booking
- Collaborate with artists/venues to understand their event goals and requirements.
- Oversee appointment of audio technicians for event setup and breakdown, ensuring all elements are executed as planned.
- Market events through various internal and external channels to maximize attendance and engagement.
- Maintain strong relationships with musicians, venues, and other service providers in the industry.
Qualifications
- 1-2 years experience in event planning or coordination within the entertainment sector is preferred
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent time management skills to meet tight deadlines while maintaining attention to detail.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with clients and vendors.
- Ability to negotiate effectively to achieve favorable outcomes for all parties involved.
- A background in live music or entertainment is non-negotiable.
- Familiarity with budgeting processes and financial management related to event planning.
- Creative problem-solving skills to address any challenges that may arise during events.
