Century Steel Fabrication. is a growing miscellaneous metals and structural steel firm that is seeking an experienced Steel Detailer to join our dedicated Winnipeg team.
You will collaborate closely with Project Managers, Estimators, and other team members to deliver precise and efficient detailing for structural and miscellaneous steel projects. You'll be part of a team committed to maintaining high standards of client service and adhering to our company protocols.
Responsibilities
1. Transform structural and architectural designs into detailed, models that meet all standards and building codes, that enable the construction of structures which meet the client’s needs and the company’s requirements in a timely manner.
2. Bring designs to life by expertly executing connections of steel members as specified by the Engineers of Record (EOR).
3. Produce and meticulously revise drawings for all project phases
3. Coordination with general contractors, engineers, and sub-contractors on status of drawings required
4. Manage the preparation and timely delivery of comprehensive drawing packages to clients, aligning with project timelines and maintaining the highest standards of quality
5. Is present at project meetings, stay involved throughout design and fabrication process
5. Work with the project team to assist in the design, estimates and schedules.
6. Manage contract changes, field orders, site instructions, correspondence, etc. Create and implement log sheets for site instructions, change orders, change requests, drawings, site clarification, and O&M Manuals.
7. Provide support to site superintendent as required with respect to Site measuring, documentation, correspondence and site requests.
Requirements/Assets
· 3+ years’ experience as a Steel Detailer – willing to consider candidates who can demonstrate significant experience in a related field
· Hands-on experience with AutoCAD, Inventor, Microsoft Office, Excel and an interest for learning new software programs
You have a deep understanding of structural and miscellaneous steel construction and fabrication
· Well developed oral and written communications, and interpersonal skills
· Proven project management and coordination skills
· Demonstrates honesty and integrity in all business interactions and strives to meet customer needs in a creative and safe manner.
· Must possess a high level of organizational, time management and prioritization skills.
· Knowledge of construction sub-trades would be an asset. Experience in structural and miscellaneous steel construction, fabrication, and the ability to read drawings
