Position: Quality Engineering (QE) Lead – Personal Insurance
Location: Hybrid, 2x per week in office (Toronto, Downtown)
Structure: Contract 6 months to start
Pay: $65.00 - $70.00 p/h inc.

Our client is seeking an experienced Quality Engineering (QE) Lead to support several strategic Personal Insurance initiatives. This individual will serve as the client's Quality Engineering representative, leading end-to-end testing activities while coordinating closely with internal stakeholders and third-party delivery partners.
The successful candidate will be responsible for driving the overall testing strategy, planning, execution, reporting, and governance while ensuring vendor-delivered testing activities meet quality expectations, timelines, and business objectives.

Lead the overall Quality Engineering and testing effort across Personal Insurance initiatives.

Develop and execute comprehensive test strategies, test plans, and testing schedules.

Coordinate and oversee system, integration, regression, and user acceptance testing activities.

Act as the primary Quality Engineering representative for the client, collaborating with business, technology, and vendor teams.

Manage vendor testing deliverables, ensuring quality standards, timelines, and project objectives are achieved.

Track testing progress, risks, defects, and overall quality metrics while providing regular status reporting to project stakeholders.

Facilitate defect triage sessions and drive issue resolution with internal and external teams.

Ensure testing activities align with project governance, quality standards, and release schedules.

Identify testing risks early and develop mitigation strategies.

Foster strong communication and collaboration across cross-functional teams.

8+ years of Quality Assurance / Quality Engineering experience with progressively senior responsibilities.

Proven experience leading end-to-end testing activities on enterprise software implementations.

Strong experience within the Property & Casualty (P&C) Insurance industry, particularly Personal Insurance.

Hands-on experience working with Guidewire (Guidewire InsuranceSuite) implementations or enhancements.

Experience managing and coordinating third-party vendor testing teams and deliverables.

Strong knowledge of testing methodologies, defect management, and quality governance.

Experience developing test strategies, test plans, execution reporting, and quality dashboards.

Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills with the ability to influence across business and technology teams.

Experience working in Agile and hybrid delivery environments.

Previous experience acting as a QE/Test Lead on Guidewire transformation programs.

Experience with test management tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, ALM, or similar platforms.

Exposure to automation testing practices and quality engineering best practices.

ISTQB or other QA certifications are considered an asset.
