Pacific Vision MD is a patient-focused ophthalmology clinic committed to delivering exceptional eye care. We are seeking a friendly, adaptable, and highly detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Front Desk / Ophthalmic Technician.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a high-volume clinical environment, has strong multitasking abilities, and enjoys balancing administrative duties with hands-on patient care.
Responsibilities:
- Greet and check in patients with professionalism and warmth
- Schedule and confirm appointments; manage phone calls and electronic communication
- Prepare, update, and maintain patient charts using Accuro EMR
- Verify MSP/health card information and ensure accurate records
- Create referrals and coordinate with specialty offices
- Perform general administrative duties (filing, scanning, faxing)
- Accurately document patient medical history and exam information
- Operate ophthalmic diagnostic equipment (OCT, Visual Field, Auto-Refractor)
- Administer eye drops as directed
- Educate patients on procedures, surgeries, treatments, and medications
- Clean and prepare exam rooms; restock and monitor supplies
- Sterilize surgical instruments and maintain clinical equipment
- Support clinic flow to ensure an efficient and smooth patient experience
- Perform additional duties as required based on clinic flow and operational needs
Preferred Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years of Medical Office Assistant (MOA) experience required
- Completion of a MOA program is an asset
- Experience in an ophthalmology clinic is a strong asset
- Optometry experience is valuable
- Knowledge of Accuro EMR is an asset but not required
- Excellent multitasking skills with strong attention to detail
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of ophthalmic terminology is an asset (training provided)
- Fluent in English (spoken and written); Farsi is an asset
