Position Summary
No Limits Underground Ltd. is seeking an experienced and motivated Top Man to support our underground utility crews on water, sewer, telecom, and civil infrastructure projects.
The Top Man plays a critical role in the safe and efficient execution of underground work by assisting the foreman and operators with grade control, pipe installation, utility awareness, site coordination, and daily crew support. This position requires strong communication, awareness of site safety, and experience working around underground infrastructure and heavy equipment.
Responsibilities
* Assist with layout, grade checking, and utility installations
* Direct operators during excavation and pipe installation activities
* Ensure proper bedding, pipe alignment, elevations, and backfill procedures
* Monitor trench conditions and maintain safe work practices
* Assist with locating existing utilities and maintaining utility clearances
* Install water, sewer, storm, and telecom infrastructure
* Work closely with foreman and crew to maintain productivity and quality standards
* Coordinate material handling, tools, and site preparation
* Maintain a clean and organized work area
* Complete daily tasks in accordance with project drawings and specifications
* Follow all company safety policies and procedures
Qualifications
* Previous experience in underground utility construction preferred
* Experience working around excavators, loaders, and heavy equipment
* Ability to read grades, laser levels, and construction drawings considered an asset
* Strong understanding of trench safety and underground construction practices
* Ability to work in a fast-paced outdoor construction environment
* Strong communication and teamwork skills
* Valid driver’s license required
* Safety certifications considered an asset (Ground Disturbance, Confined Space, CSTS, etc.)
* Ability to lift materials and work physically throughout the day

Pay: $22.00-$30.00 per hour
