Job Overview
We are seeking a talented Experienced Pastry Cook to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for baking and decorating cakes, with the ability to create visually appealing designs that meet customer specifications. This role requires a keen eye for detail, strong customer service skills, and a solid understanding of food safety practices. The Cake Decorator will work in a fast-paced kitchen environment, collaborating with other team members to ensure high-quality products are delivered to our customers.
Duties
- Decorate cakes and other baked goods according to customer orders and specifications.
- Oversee the operation, prepare prep list, report to the Manager.
- Utilize various decorating techniques, including piping, fondant application, and airbrushing.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen area while adhering to food safety standards.
- Assist in the preparation of cake batters and other baked items as needed.
- Package finished products for display or delivery, ensuring they are presented attractively.
- Provide excellent customer service by interacting with customers to understand their needs and preferences.
- Collaborate with team members to develop new cake designs and menu items.
Experience
- 3yrs Previous experience in cake decorating or a similar role within the food industry is a must.
- 3 yrs of baking experience is a must - sponge cake, cookies, loaf, pies, etc
- Must have Diploma of Pastry Art & Baking Program or equivalent.
- Knowledge of food safety practices and regulations is essential.
- Familiarity with kitchen equipment and baking techniques is required.
