About Strescon Limited
Established in 1963, Strescon Limited has grown to become the largest precast, pre-stressed concrete manufacturer in Eastern Canada. Its primary market covers the Atlantic Provinces and the New England region of the United States. Strescon manufactures a wide range of both architectural and structural precast/prestressed concrete products including bridge girders, wall panels, complete parking garages, hollowcore slabs, precast pile, and deck slabs. Strescon presently has two facilities: 70,000 sq. ft. in Saint John, New Brunswick and 50,000 sq. ft. in Bedford, Nova Scotia.
In addition to our engineered precast facilities for custom components, Strescon also operates a 32,000 sq. ft. facility in Saint John which manufactures standard concrete products for engineered drainage systems, such as pipe, manholes and catch basins.
Job Summary
We are seeking a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) to support the structural design of precast and prestressed concrete elements across a range of construction projects. This role is ideal for someone with a strong understanding of structural engineering principles and an interest in applying them to precast concrete design in a collaborative, project‑focused environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the design of precast/prestressed concrete elements under the guidance of senior engineers.
- Support preparation of design drawings and basic calculations for precast components.
- Work with architects, contractors, and other team members to help ensure design requirements are met.
- Learn to conduct structural analysis and apply relevant codes and standards with supervision.
- Provide technical support during different phases of the project lifecycle.
- Attend project meetings to observe and contribute ideas to design discussions.
- Develop an understanding of precast concrete design principles and construction practices.
- Participate in ongoing training and stay informed about standard codes and practices.
Technical Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field
- Experience in precast concrete design considered an asset
- Interest in learning structural analysis tools such as E‑Tabs
- Professional licensure is a requirement
