Employment Type: Full-Time, Hybrid
Experience Level: Minimum 2-3+ Years Work Experience
About the Role:
Greenspace is looking for a highly motivated Technical Designer to support the design, planning, and development of warehouse automation and storage system projects. This role is ideal for someone who is technically strong, detail-oriented, and able to think critically about how warehouse space, product flow, equipment layout, and operational efficiency all come together.
As a Technical Designer, you will be responsible for developing layouts and design concepts using AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and other 3D modelling tools. You will work on projects involving warehouse automation, storage systems, conveyor layouts, racking systems, material handling equipment, and overall facility optimization.
This is not a role for someone who simply waits for instructions. We are looking for a proactive, solutions-focused person who can take ownership of tasks, ask smart questions, troubleshoot problems, make recommendations, and help move projects forward.
Key Responsibilities:
· Develop warehouse layouts, system designs, and technical drawings using AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and 3D modelling software.
· Design and optimize warehouse storage and automation layouts to improve space utilization, material flow, picking efficiency, access, safety, and overall operational performance.
· Review customer requirements, site information, equipment specifications, and project constraints to develop practical and efficient design solutions.
· Critically evaluate warehouse layouts to identify bottlenecks, wasted space, poor product flow, access issues, safety concerns, and opportunities for improvement.
· Support the design of systems such as pallet racking, shelving, conveyor systems, automated storage systems, mezzanines, workstations, and other material handling solutions.
· Prepare concept drawings, approval drawings, proposal layouts, technical documentation, and supporting design materials for internal teams, customers, vendors, and installation partners.
· Work closely with sales, project management, engineering, vendors, and installation teams to ensure designs are practical, accurate, and executable.
· Troubleshoot design issues and provide recommendations when site conditions, equipment limitations, customer requirements, or project constraints change.
· Take ownership of assigned design tasks from concept through revision, approval, and handoff.
What We’re Looking For:
· Strong experience using AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
· Experience with 3D modelling tools and the ability to produce accurate, professional technical drawings.
· Experience designing warehouse layouts, storage systems, automation systems, material handling equipment, or industrial facility layouts is strongly preferred.
· Strong spatial reasoning and the ability to understand how goods, people, equipment, and processes move through a warehouse.
· Ability to think critically and independently when developing layouts and solving design challenges.
· Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills and highly organized with strong attention to detail.
· Able to manage multiple tasks, priorities, and revisions in a fast-paced project environment.
· Comfortable asking questions, challenging assumptions, and making practical recommendations.
· Strong communication skills and the ability to explain design concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical team members.
· Ability to work independently while also collaborating with sales, project management, engineering, and installation teams.
Why Greenspace Industrial?

· Work on challenging, high-impact projects for clients across a variety of industries.
· Contribute to practical solutions that improve warehouse space utilization, product flow, and operational efficiency.
· Join a supportive, collaborative team where initiative, problem-solving, and ownership are valued.
· Competitive compensation and benefits package.
