We are seeking a motivated Electrical EIT or Electrical Technologist to join our BC, Team. This role is focused on electrical commissioning, field testing, reporting, and supporting the development of safe and effective testing and switching procedures.
No prior experience is required. The ideal candidate will have excellent attention to detail, and an extreme willingness to learn independently in a fast-paced environment.
This position requires flexibility, travel, and shift work across North America.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as part of the commissioning team in a commissioning authority role.
- Develop and assist with testing procedures, switching procedures, and commissioning plans.
- Review vendor drawings, manuals, test procedures, and technical documentation.
- Perform supervised electrical testing on low-voltage and medium-voltage switchgear.
- Complete testing in accordance with applicable industry standards, (ie NETA,IEE)
- Perform infrared scanning, inspections, and data logging.
- Record, organize, and analyze field test results.
- Develop detailed commissioning and testing reports.
- Identify deficiencies, safety concerns, and technical issues during commissioning activities.
- Coordinate with vendors, contractors, engineers, and client representatives.
- Support safe work planning, lockout/tagout procedures, and switching activities.
- Work on active construction and commissioning sites throughout North America.
Required Qualifications
- Electrical Engineering degree, Electrical Engineering Technology diploma, or similar electrical background.
- Eligible for, or currently registered as, an EIT or Technologist.
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license.
- Willingness to travel across North America.
- Ability to work shift rotations, including 16/7 and 21/10 schedules.
- Strong willingness to learn independently.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and technical documents.
- Strong written communication skills for report writing.
- Good computer skills, including Microsoft office suite.
- Safety-focused mindset.
Preferred skills and experience (Not required)
- Basic understanding of low-voltage and medium-voltage electrical systems.
- Familiarity with switchgear, transformers, breakers, relays, and power distribution equipment.
- Exposure to electrical testing equipment such as insulation resistance testers, ductors, power quality meters, or infrared cameras.
- Understanding of commissioning, QA/QC, or construction field environments.
- Familiarity with NETA testing standards is an asset.

Experience
No prior commissioning experience is necessary.
Training and mentorship will be provided. However, the candidate must demonstrate strong initiative, independent learning ability, and flexibility with travel and shift work.
Pay: $30.00-$55.00 per hour
