The Role: We are seeking an experienced Technical Millwork Designer to join our innovative team as an independent contractor. This position allows you to work from your home office while playing a crucial role in helping our clients bring their kitchen visions to life. Your expertise will be essential in designing, refining, producing construction drawing sets and optimizing custom cabinetry projects. Swede is offering a flexible contract for a 1-year, renewable term and project-based work to be accepted at your discretion and availability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create, refine and produce customized cabinetry drawing sets using SketchUp.
- Collaborate with clients, designers, and manufacturers to ensure design feasibility and quality.
- Provide technical guidance on materials, construction methods, and installation.
- Assist in developing detailed technical drawings and 3D renderings.
- Ensure designs align with Swede’s quality standards and customer expectations.
What We’re Looking For:
- 5+ years of experience in custom cabinetry design and manufacturing. (required)
- Proficiency in SketchUp (required).
- The ideal candidate has direct experience working with cabinetry manufacturing shops
- Strong knowledge of cabinetry materials, installation techniques, and hardware.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment and operate as an independent contractor
- Located in Canada.
