Overview of the role:
Saputo Dairy Products Canada G.P. is seeking a highly organized and proactive Maintenance Planner to join our growing team.
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Planner is responsible for ensuring maintenance work is fully planned, structured, and ready for efficient execution, supporting asset reliability and maintenance effectiveness.
The role owns job planning quality, preventive maintenance (PM) content, asset data accuracy, and planning-related CMMS integrity.
The Maintenance Planner prepares work packages that include scope, materials, labor estimates, safety requirements, and documentation, and hands off fully ready work to the Maintenance Scheduler for scheduling.
The Maintenance Planner supports plant projects by preparing maintenance work requirements and ensuring all work is ready for execution from a planning perspective.
The role works with contractors to clarify job scope, materials, and requirements, and ensures everything is ready before work begins. The role supports execution quality by improving job clarity, PM effectiveness, and planning discipline, but does not supervise or manage execution.
How you will make contributions that matter:
- Develop and maintain detailed job plans with accurate scope, labor estimates, safety requirements, and documentation.
- Optimize PM programs, equipment BOMs, and task standards to improve asset reliability.
- Ensure all planned work is fully ready and kitted prior to scheduling.
- Support plant and engineering projects by developing job plans, defining materials and labor requirements, and ensuring maintenance work is fully prepared before execution.
- Work with contractors to clarify job scope, materials, and requirements, and ensure everything is ready before work begins.
- Collaborate with the Maintenance Scheduler to support smooth handoff of ready work.
- Support MRO by defining parts requirements, BOM accuracy, and replenishment recommendations.
- Analyze equipment history, PM performance, and failure trends to support reliability improvements.
- Maintain planning-related CMMS data accuracy and standards.
- Support shutdown and major work preparation from a planning perspective.
- Facilitate planning meetings focused on job readiness and backlog health.
- Other duties as assigned.
You are best suited for the role if you have the following qualifications:
- Postsecondary education in engineering, technology, trades, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in manufacturing or production maintenance.
- Strong knowledge of maintenance planning and reliability principles.
- CMMS experience (SAP, Fiix, or similar).
- Reliability or asset management training (CMRP, FMEA, MMP – asset).
Additional Skills & Competencies:
- Strong technical knowledge of CMMS systems and maintenance planning processes.
- Proficient in Excel and Microsoft Office (required); Power BI knowledge (asset).
- Highly organized with strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Effective communicator with strong collaboration and technical leadership abilities.
- Able to work independently while supporting cross‑functional coordination.
- Dependable, proactive, and disciplined in managing planning standards.

Salary: $61,985.00 - $77,480.00
*Salary offers will vary commensurate with experience, education, skills, and training.
