AST Event Security Guard – Vancouver (Weekends Required)

Job Description
We are hiring AST (Advanced Security Training) licensed Event Security Guards for high-profile events including professional sports, concerts, and large-scale public events.
This role is events only and requires guards who are confident working in high-density crowds, elevated-risk environments, and fast-changing situations. This is not entry-level security.
AST license is mandatory. No exceptions.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and control large crowds during major stadium events
- Enforce policies, prohibited items lists, and venue rules
- Handle conflict intervention and advanced de-escalation
- Respond to intoxicated, aggressive, or non-compliant patrons
- Support access control, screening, and restricted-area enforcement
- Assist supervisors and command teams during incidents or emergencies
- Participate in emergency response, evacuations, and medical situations
- Maintain clear radio communication and situational awareness
- Complete detailed incident and occurrence reports as required
Requirements
- Valid AST Security License (mandatory)
- Valid BC Security Guard License
- Minimum 1 year security experience (event, crowd control, or public venue preferred)
- Weekend availability required (Friday evenings, Saturdays, Sundays)
- Availability for evenings, late nights, and holidays
- Physically capable of standing/walking 6-10 hour shifts
- Strong communication skills and command presence
- Calm, professional decision-making under pressure
- Reliable, punctual, and able to follow strict stadium protocols
- Must pass background verification required by and the client
- Previous experience at Arenas, stadiums, arenas, or festivals
- First Aid / CPR certification(Preferred)
- Experience managing crowds of 5,000+ attendees
- Radio and command-post communication experience
- Leadership potential for response team or lead positions
