A busy optometric practice is seeking a full-time receptionist to join our team.
Job description
- Answer a high volume of calls and maintain a rapid response rate according to agreed-upon standards and training
- Take accurate information from calls received (i.e.: book appointments) where required and transfer information or calls with speed and accuracy
- IVR health card validation
- Greet in office patients immediately in a courteous and friendly demeanor while building rapport with patients
- Provide direction and information as required to in office patients and collect required health information prior to eye exam
- Check in and sign out patients, collect payment, process third party billing
- Book referral appointment and diagnostic test on Cerner
- Order and maintain office supplies as needed
- Manage online inquiries for scheduling appointments and checking on orders, etc.
- Transcribe dictation
- Send and track referral reports
- Participate in professional development training and initiatives including staff meetings, continuing education and conferences
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, doctors, suppliers and the general public.
- Maintain regular consistent and professional attendance, punctuality, personal appearance, and adhere to relevant health and safety procedures.
- Dispense contact lenses, low vision devices and other miscellaneous products
- Verify glasses prescription and dot lenses
- Dispense glasses when needed
- Keeping reception area clean and tidy
Job requirements
- Excellent computer skills are a must
- Experience with EMR is strongly preferred
- Must be willing to be cross-trained to learn spectacle frame adjustment, frame selection, glasses dispensing, and other areas of the optical
- Must be a very detail-oriented
- Must be able to multi-task and exhibit excellent time management skills
Job Types: Permanent, Full-time
Pay: $22.00-$30.00 per hour
