Canada West Shoe Mfg. is a family-owned business producing Goodyear welt Footwear at our factory in Winnipeg since 1978. We produce a wide variety of products including Western Boots, Work Boots, Casual and Military dress Footwear
We are seeking an experienced Production Supervisor for our Sewing Room to oversee a team of 25 Employees while ensuring production goals, quality targets and safety protocols are achieved
Job Summary
Provide training and ongoing support to a team of 25 - 30 sewing machine operators
- Monitor individual and department output, Coach Teach and Train staff to ensure production targets are met
- Monitor Quality
- Effective communication with Management and Maintenance to ensure machinery is maintained and repaired with minimal downtime
- Assist on the production floor in the case of backlogs or new product implementation
- Workflow analysis; line balancing to ensuring the room is operating efficiently and identify opportunities for employee cross training
- Prioritizing Employee moral and safety in the department
Qualifications
- Industrial sewing experience is Required. Experience in the leather goods or textile industries is highly desirable
- Demonstrated experience supervising in a production environment in which you were responsible for KPI tracking and performance management
- Mechanical aptitude; ability to troubleshoot and perform basic repairs on industrial sewing machines is an asset
- Ability to read and understand production instructions and communicate with a diverse group of people in the workplace
Pay: $65,000.00-$75,000.00 per year
