About the Role
We have an opening for a seasonal, full-time permanent Driver-Operator in our Concrete Department.
We're looking for people who not only loves to drive, but enjoys customer service.
We are looking for someone who is available for a rotating 5–6-day schedule, Monday to Saturday working out of our Scarborough location (with training initially at our Leaside location).
Requirements
- Must know how to drive manual transmission trucks (10-speed)
- Valid driver’s license with a minimum 3 years DZ driver experience (DZ is minimum license required)
- Able to work rotating 5-6 day work schedule (Monday-Saturday)
- Must be physically fit to be able to climb and load trucks
- Thrives in a team environment with co-workers, supervisors, and customers
- Must have basic street knowledge of the GTA
Responsibilities
- Provide prompt and effective customer service
- Accept payments for delivery of concrete and comfortable creating invoices and collecting from customers
- Perform pre-trip inspection of vehicle
- Clean and mechanically maintain truck
- Assist in loading and unloading of vehicle
- Comply with all company policies and procedures
- Complete all necessary paperwork at the end of the shift. May include, but not limited to, daily logs, inspection logs, delivery receipts, vehicle inspection, hours of service, etc.
- Operate vehicle in a safe manner, obeying all rules of the road
Working Conditions
- This role will start at our Leaside location for training and will eventually move to our Scarborough location.
- This role may also work out of our Leaside location during colder months.
- Flexible hours including evenings and weekends - Saturday work required

- Interaction with customers/clients, and the public at large
- Lifting, moving, or manipulating objects up to 80-100 kilograms
- Exposure to hazards associated with the industry/trade
- Extended periods of sitting
- Hazards associated with conducting work outdoors
- High noise levels
- Regular exposure to conditions including heat, humidity, and dust
- Repetitive work
- Use of required personal protective equipment - safety boots required (CSA Green triangle patch and CSA White rectangle with orange Greek letter omega)
