Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and reliable Civil Pipe Layer to join our construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining underground piping systems for water, sewer, and drainage infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Install underground pipes for storm, sanitary sewer, and watermain systems
- Read and interpret blueprints, grade stakes, and construction plans
- Ensure proper alignment, grading, and slope of pipes
- Operate hand tools and small equipment safely
- Assist with trenching, shoring, and backfilling operations
- Follow all safety procedures and regulations on job sites
- Work collaboratively with operators, laborers, and supervisors
- Inspect pipes and materials for defects and ensure quality standards
Qualifications
- Minimum [5] years of experience in civil pipe laying or underground construction
- Knowledge of municipal infrastructure standards and specifications
- Ability to read and understand construction drawings
- Experience working in trenches and confined spaces
- Valid driver’s license
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
Preferred Skills
- Experience with laser levels and grading tools
- Familiarity with local municipal codes and regulations
- Equipment operation experience (excavator, skid steer) is an asset
- Topcon GPS experience is an asset
Working Conditions
- Outdoor work in various weather conditions
- Physically demanding (lifting, bending, standing for long periods)
- May require overtime or weekend work depending on project needs
