Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Level 3 Early Childhood Educator to join our team as a full-time Lead Teacher. This role combines classroom leadership, program planning, and centre support responsibilities, including administrative duties and digital communication support. The ideal candidate brings extensive experience in early childhood education, strong leadership skills, and the ability to contribute to both program quality and centre operations.
Qualifications
- Early Childhood Educator Level 3 certification (required)
- Minimum 10 years of experience in early childhood education as a lead teacher
- At least 5 years of administrative experience in a childcare setting, including licensing inspections and compliance support
- Strong experience working with children aged 2–5 years
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with children, families, and staff
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Strong organizational skills and ability to maintain confidentiality
- Experience in program planning and implementation
- Valid Criminal Record Check & Vulnerable Sector Screening (within 6 months)
- Standard First Aid and Infant CPR certification (required)
- Experience with website updates and social media management (required)
Responsibilities
Early Childhood Education & Program Leadership
- Develop and implement a high-quality early learning program supporting children’s physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development
- Plan engaging, developmentally appropriate learning environments based on children’s interests
- Observe, assess, and communicate children’s progress with families and team members
- Support children in building independence and self-help skills
- Maintain a safe, healthy, and nurturing classroom environment
- Collaborate with staff and community partners to support programming needs
- Participate in staff meetings and professional development
- Prepare learning materials and support classroom organization and cleanliness
- Work within both programming and extended care hours (7:00 AM – 6:00 PM)
Administrative & Digital Support
- Support centre administration, including licensing preparation and operational documentation
- Assist with compliance requirements and communication with licensing officers during inspections
- Maintain and update the centre website, ensuring accuracy and usability
- Manage and update social media platforms, including content posting and engagement
- Support basic digital marketing efforts, including scheduling posts and tracking engagement
- Help streamline communication systems for families and staff through digital tools
