POSITION OVERVIEW
We are currently seeking a Heavy Duty Technician who is committed to delivering exceptional service, achieving clear goals, and continuously developing their skills. This role is for a motivated technician who takes ownership of their work, maintains a high standard, and wants to grow within a structured, growth-oriented team environment.

We are Red Deer’s leading heavy-duty truck and trailer repair shop. We provide comprehensive heavy-duty truck and trailer repair services, including CVIP inspections, full equipment maintenance, major overhauls, performance tuning, and mobile repair services.

PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES
- Prioritize efficiency and contribute to overall shop turnaround times
- Maintain high-quality workmanship standards
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair all truck and trailer systems
- Conduct commercial vehicle inspections (CVIP)
- Overhaul major components
- Complete all repairs to Pro Spec Diesel’s standards, ensuring quality, efficiency, and alignment with performance metrics
- Maintain clean, accurate documentation and an organized workspace
- Collaborate effectively with team members
- Actively participate in daily and monthly meetings
- Perform additional tasks as assigned
- Perform mobile/service truck repairs
KEY COMPETENCIES
- Minimum 2 years of heavy-duty truck and trailer experience
- Apprentice or Journeyman Certification
- Commercial Vehicle Inspection License
- Own tools and safety boots
- Proficient with mobile devices, repair documentation apps, and email communication
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Positive attitude, team-oriented, results-driven, and growth-minded
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Class 1 or Class 3 license
- Automotive diesel experience
- Experience with Fullbay software
- Relevant training and certifications
- Dealership or field experience(Preferred)
- Strong knowledge in specific components or systems(Preferred)

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to bend, kneel, crouch, and work in tight or awkward positions
- Capable of working safely under trucks, trailers, and equipment
- Comfortable using hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple active jobs
- Tolerance for shop conditions including noise, dust, fumes, and temperature changes
- Ability to maintain focus and attention to detail during physically demanding tasks
- Physically capable of operating heavy equipment and shop machinery safely
- Comfortable working in varying conditions, including colder temperatures during winter months
- Ability to lift, carry, and move heavy components (50–100 lbs with assistance or equipment)
- Must be able to wear required PPE (safety boots, gloves, eye and hearing protection)
