Oulton College is seeking a qualified professional with a Master’s degree in Nursing and/or background/experience in Health Informatics, or a closely related discipline to support our Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) program as a Course Developer and/or Faculty member for Health Informatics.
This course explores the role of informatics and healthcare technologies in nursing practice, with a focus on improving patient outcomes and enhancing client care. Topics include healthcare information systems, electronic health records, telehealth, digital literacy, privacy and confidentiality of health information, and the use of communication technologies and social media in professional practice.
The course is scheduled for the Fall 2026 semester, offered over a 15-week term (3 hours per week of teaching).
Course Development Responsibilities
The successful candidate would support the development and organization of course materials and learning activities, including:

Developing course outlines, lesson content, and instructional materials

Aligning course content with program learning outcomes and academic standards

Creating assignments, learning activities, and evaluation tools

Incorporating current evidence-based practice and relevant healthcare technologies

Collaborating with the academic team to support curriculum quality and consistency
Faculty Responsibilities
The successful candidate would also support course delivery through:

Delivering engaging course content through lectures

Facilitating student learning in areas including:

Application of digital literacy and informatics competencies in nursing practice

Use of healthcare information systems and electronic health records in care delivery

Integration of information and communication technologies to enhance client care

The role of telehealth and social media in healthcare communication and education

Grading assignments, exams, and learning activities
