Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Garage Door Installer to join our construction and home improvement team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining garage doors and related components. This role requires a strong understanding of construction practices, technical skills, and the ability to read schematics and blueprints. The Garage Door Installer will work closely with clients and team members to ensure high-quality service and adherence to safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Install new garage doors, openers, and related hardware according to manufacturer specifications and blueprints
- Repair and replace damaged or malfunctioning garage door components
- Use hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment to complete installations efficiently
- Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical diagrams for accurate installation
- Perform maintenance tasks such as lubrication, calibration, and adjustments to ensure optimal operation
- Conduct restoration work on existing garage doors as needed
- Apply caulking and sealing techniques to prevent leaks and improve insulation.
- Ensure all work complies with safety regulations and quality standards
Requirements
- Proven experience with hand tools, carpentry, blueprint reading, schematics, caulking, restoration, construction is preferred
- Knowledge of construction practices related to garage door installation and repair
- Ability to read technical diagrams and schematics accurately
- Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot issues effectively
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Physical ability to lift heavy materials and work in various environmental conditions
- Valid G drivers license with clean drivers abstract.
- Must have working at heights certificate and whmis training
- Prior experience in construction or home improvement projects is a plus
