Duties will include but are not limited to:
· Preparing snacks and lunch for 100+ infants, toddlers, preschoolers and elementary children
· Ability to cook meals and bake from scratch.
· Must be able to make lunches accommodating dietary restrictions and allergies.
· Keep a clean and organized kitchen to Public Health Standards
· Clean and sanitize kitchen and general areas
· Deliver and collect lunch/snack trays to and from all classrooms
· Maintain regular inventory of equipment and supplies
· Maintain appropriate temperatures of food and maintain a log
· Responsible for planning grocery needs, creating shopping lists, purchasing groceries, and using a personal vehicle to travel to and from stores.
· Ability to multi-task and work under pressure
· Works with a positive attitude and as a team player
· Have the physical stamina and ability to kneel, bend, lift and stand for extended periods.
. Responsible for cleaning kitchen, and common areas.
Required Education, Skills and Qualifications
· CPR and First Aid Level C
· Current Vulnerable Sector Check
· Up to date immunization record
· Negative TB test
· Food Handlers Certification
· Effective communication skills
. Ability to operate standard kitchen appliances
. Knowledge of Canada’s Food Guide
Job Type: Permanent
Pay: $20.00-$22.00 per hour
Experience:
- Cooking: 1 year (preferred)
- cooking in a licensed child care,: 1 year (preferred)
Licence/Certification:
- Ontario Food Handler Certification (required)
