Role Summary: The Business Manager is a hands-on revenue leader responsible for driving new business across landscape maintenance, snow services, and landscape construction. This role combines active outside sales responsibilities with leadership of Client Care Managers, ensuring both new revenue growth and strong client retention.
As a player-coach, the Business Development Manager leads by example in the field—building relationships, closing work, and supporting the team to deliver a consistent, high-quality client experience aligned with the company’s mission and brand.
Key Responsibilities
Outside Sales & Business Development (Primary Focus)
- Oversee and ensure all maintenance and snow renewals are quoted and delivered on time
- Support Client Care Managers in renewal strategy and client communication
- Step in on key accounts or at-risk clients to maintain relationships
- Continuously look for opportunities to increase contract value and scope
Client Retention & Renewals
- Oversee and ensure all maintenance and snow renewals are quoted and delivered on time
- Support Client Care Managers in renewal strategy and client communication
- Step in on key accounts or at-risk clients to maintain relationships
- Continuously look for opportunities to increase contract value and scope.
Leadership & Team Development
- Lead and support:
- 2 Client Care Managers
- Provide guidance, accountability, and coaching on client management and upselling
- Ensure clear communication and alignment between sales and client care functions
- Foster a culture of ownership, responsiveness, and professionalism
Collaboration & Site Engagement
- Conduct joint site visits with Client Care Managers and Construction Managers as needed
- Ensure accurate scoping, estimating, and alignment with operations
- Act as the bridge between client expectations and operational delivery
Marketing & Brand Alignment
- Ensure all proposals, presentations, and communications reflect the company’s brand and mission
- Collaborate on marketing initiatives and content to support sales efforts
- Provide market feedback to strengthen positioning and messaging
Performance & Accountability
- Own personal sales targets and contribute significantly to overall company revenue
- Track and report on:
- Pipeline activity
- Close rates
- Revenue generated
- Renewal success
- Use data to adjust strategy and improve performance

Qualifications
- 5+ years of proven outside sales experience, preferably in landscaping, construction, or a related industry
- Demonstrated success in closing new business and growing accounts
- Leadership experience or strong capability to mentor and guide team members
- Strong understanding of service-based contracts (maintenance, snow, or construction preferred)
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
- Self-driven with a high level of accountability and ownership
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $70,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
