SimpliCare is a new multidisciplinary medical office located in Toronto, Ontario. We are committed to providing high-quality, patient-centered care in a friendly and professional environment. We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team.
Position Summary:
The Medical Assistant will support physicians and other healthcare professionals with clinical and administrative tasks to ensure efficient patient flow and exceptional care. This role requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and a strong understanding of medical office procedures in Ontario.
Key Responsibilities:
Clinical Duties:
- Prepare examination rooms and assist during patient examinations and procedures
- Take and record vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, pulse, etc.)
- Collect specimens for lab testing and perform basic lab procedures
- Administer medications and injections as directed by the physician
- Ensure proper sterilization and maintenance of medical instruments and equipment
- Update patient medical records accurately in EMR systems (e.g. JANE, OSCAR)
Administrative Duties:
- Greet and check in patients; verify and update patient information
- Schedule appointments and manage calendars for healthcare providers
- Answer phones, respond to inquiries, and relay messages promptly
- Process billing, OHIP claims, and insurance paperwork
- Maintain inventory and order medical and office supplies as needed
- Assist with referrals and follow-ups
Qualifications:
- Medical Office Assistant (MOA) diploma or equivalent certification from a recognized institution
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a clinical or medical office setting (preferred)
- Knowledge of Ontario’s healthcare system and OHIP billing procedures
- Proficient with EMR systems; experience with JANE and/or OSCAR is an asset
- CPR and First Aid certification (current)
- Excellent organizational, communication, and multitasking skills
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to patient confidentiality
Working Conditions:
- Multi-specialty medical office environment
- Direct interaction with patients and healthcare providers
- May require occasional evening or weekend shifts depending on clinic hours
Pay: $18.00-$20.00 per hour
