We are seeking a skilled Structural Welder to support the maintenance, repair, and structural integrity of our crane fleet and lifting equipment.
Position Overview
The Welder – Crane & Structural Equipment performs structural welding, fabrication, and repair work on:
- tower crane components
- lifting equipment
- structural steel assemblies
- equipment frames and components
This role is primarily based at our Langford yard, with occasional support for field repairs.
All welding work must comply with CSA structural welding standards, approved welding procedures, and manufacturer or engineer-approved repair instructions.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform structural welding repairs on tower crane components and lifting equipment
- Fabricate and repair structural steel components
- Complete repairs in accordance with approved welding procedures and engineering drawings
- Prepare materials through cutting, grinding, and fitting
- Inspect completed welds for quality and structural integrity
- Support crane maintenance and repair projects
- Work collaboratively with mechanics and technicians
- Follow WorkSafeBC safety regulations and company safety policies
Required Qualifications
- CWB Welder Qualification for structural steel welding
- Experience welding structural steel in accordance with CSA W59
- Minimum 3 years welding experience in structural steel, heavy equipment, or industrial environments
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and welding symbols
- Experience with FCAW, SMAW, and/or GMAW welding processes
- Strong attention to quality and safety
Preferred Qualifications
- Red Seal Welder Certification
- Experience welding on cranes, lifting equipment, or heavy machinery
- Experience with structural fabrication and equipment repair
- Forklift or equipment operation experience considered an asset
Compensation & Benefits
