Andrew Fleck Children’s Services is looking to hire a Bilingual Toy Library Worker with the possibility of contract extension! Responsible for setting up and operating the Ontario EarlyON toy library, the Toy Library Worker is a valuable and important member of the EarlyON team. You will assist parents with borrowing developmentally appropriate toys for their children and tracking the availability of the toys and equipment, all while helping to create a safe and healthy environment in cooperation with parents, colleagues, and community professionals.
Available from: June 27th, 2026 to September 26th, 2026
Salary: $18.61 per hour + 4% vacation pay
Hours: 3.5 hours per week: 8:30am to 12:00pm on Saturdays, Occasional hours outside of the scheduled weekly shift
Location: EarlyON Child and Family Centre, 2330 Don Reid Drive, Ottawa ON

In this role you will…
- Set-up and operate the Ontario EarlyON toy library
- Track and log toys and equipment in Resource Mate database and ensure all data is documented accurately
- Clean toys and equipment and ensure that they are safe for children
- Provide registration forms for new parents and assist them in completing the form
- Organize toys and equipment for easy access ensuring Health and Safety Standards are met
To qualify for this role you have…
- High School Diploma
- Bilingual - French/English essential
- Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
- Clear Police Record Check (Vulnerable sector) completed in the last 6 months
- Ability to work independently without direct supervision
- Sensitivity and respect for individual and cultural differences
- Resource Mate experience and/or strong computer skills with demonstrated experience working with various software, word processing and database
- Ability to organize and prioritize work
- Ability to work under pressure, in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines in a cooperative manner
- Ability to work as integral member of a team
- Knowledge of early years child development an asset
