Job Summary
PFG Glass Industries is currently seeking dedicated and mechanically proficient Industrial Maintenance Mechanics to support our growing maintenance operations. This is a full-time, permanent position reporting directly to the Maintenance Manager. The successful candidate will work within a highly skilled team to maintain, troubleshoot, and optimize our automated, state-of-the-art production lines.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Inspect, diagnose, and troubleshoot mechanical faults and irregularities
- Interpret technical diagrams and schematic drawings to determine appropriate maintenance procedures
- Ensure the proper function of all safety mechanisms following equipment modifications or repairs
- Conduct routine cleaning, lubrication, and servicing of mechanical systems
- Participate actively in preventative maintenance programs to ensure the reliability of all equipment
- Prepare detailed maintenance documentation and reports
- Adhere strictly to safety regulations and company policies
- Maintain a clean, organized, and environmentally compliant workspace
- Assist with additional responsibilities as assigned by management
- Requirements
- Naturally mechanically inclined — you understand machinery intuitively and enjoy hands-on problem solving.
- Strong experience working with CNC machinery, PLC's, VFD, and Servo's
- Sound practical knowledge of industrial components such as fans, pumps, valves, compressors, motors, hoists, cylinders, and conveyor systems
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work professionally across diverse teams
- High level of attention to detail and precision, particularly in machinery fine-tuning
- Commitment to continuous improvement and safety best practices
- While a Red Seal Certification is not mandatory it is preferred with a minimum of two years of related industry experience; previous exposure to automated glass manufacturing is an asset.
Requirements
- Proven experience in manufacturing or facilities maintenance with strong mechanical knowledge.
- Electrical experience including troubleshooting electrical systems and components.
- Knowledge of programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and automation controls.
- Experience with CMMS software for work order management.
- Skilled in welding techniques for repair and fabrication tasks.
- Ability to read schematics, technical drawings, and manuals accurately.
- Supervising experience is preferred; demonstrated leadership skills are a plus.
- Excellent communication skills in English for effective team collaboration and documentation.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a focus on safety, quality, and efficiency.
Compensation, Hours, and Benefits
Rate of pay dependent upon experience. Regular shift schedules include morning, afternoon, and night options. We offer an additional shift premium of 1.50 dollars per hour for the afternoon shift and 3.50 dollars per hour for the night shift.
