NEW BAR OPENING — JUNE/JULY 2026
We're opening our doors in Calgary this June/July and building the founding service team. Get in on the ground floor.
About Us
Born and bred in Vancouver’s vibrant Mount Pleasant neighborhood, Mount Pleasant Vintage & Provisions is officially making the leap and expanding to Calgary!
We are a cocktail bar disguised as a postmodern thrift shop — part industrial warehouse, part breezy patio, all retro-cool. We pour an ever-rotating list of forward-thinking cocktails, fire up an Argentinian-style wood and charcoal grill, and treat hospitality like it matters. Because it does. We’re thrilled to bring our unique blend of nostalgia and high-energy hospitality to a whole new city.
The Role
We're hiring a Bartender who treats bartending as a craft but leaves the pretension at the door. You’ll be the heartbeat of the room—slinging high-volume craft cocktails, interacting with guests over the bar top, and keeping the service well organized and efficient. We move fast, we care about the details, and we want someone who can talk complex flavor profiles with a cocktail nerd one minute and crack open a cheap beer for a neighbor the next.
What You'll Do
- Command the Bar: Build, shake, and stir an ever-rotating list of forward-thinking cocktails with speed, precision, and consistency.
- Host the Bar Top: Own the guest experience for everyone sitting at the bar—read the room, anticipate needs, and guide them through our menu with genuine curiosity.
- Drive the Service Well: Keep the floor and bar in sync by pumping out service tickets quickly and accurately during peak rushes.
- Prep & Maintain: Juice, batch, and prep ingredients to our exact standards. Keep the wells, back bar, and glassware clean, organized, and fully stocked.
- Cash Out & Compliance: Process payments accurately, manage your cash drawer, and ensure responsible beverage service at all times.
- Pitch In: Help out with opening setups, side work, and deep closing breakdowns—we all leave when the work is done.
Who You Are
- Experienced: 1+ years of bartending experience in a fast-paced, craft cocktail-forward environment. You know how to handle a heavy ticket rail without breaking a sweat.
- Calm Under Fire: When the bar is three-deep at 10 PM on a Friday, you stay precise, focused, and warm.
- A Great Communicator: Clear, warm, and zero drama with guests, servers, and the kitchen.
- Passionate & Curious: You are genuinely excited about spirits, classic builds, and experimental flavors. You like to nerd out over ingredients.
- Available Nights & Weekends: Most shifts are Wednesday through Sunday, 4 PM to close.
- Physically Able: You can stand for long shifts, move quickly in tight spaces, and lift heavy kegs or ice buckets.
- 18+ (Required in Alberta to serve alcohol).
Required
- Valid ProServe certification before your first shift (Alberta law).
