Pulse Directional Technologies (PDT) is seeking a detail-oriented MWD Shop Technician to join our Calgary team. You will be the primary steward of our downhole and surface equipment, ensuring every kit that leaves our facility is field-ready and built to perform.
Role Overview
You will test, repair, and maintain advanced downhole tools under the guidance of our shop supervisor. This role requires mechanical expertise, machinery operation, and general shop duties to support our field operations.
Key Responsibilities
· Maintenance & QC: Rebuild and quality-check gap subs, orienting subs, APWD subs, and collars.
· Failure Analysis: Investigate field incidents, perform failure analysis, and generate reports.
· Inventory Control: Inspect MWD kits to ensure all equipment is field-ready.
· Documentation: Record inspections, repairs, and part replacements on work orders.
· Logistics: Prepare shipments for local and international incoming/outgoing freight.
Qualifications & Experience
· Experience: 2+ years as a shop technician in an MWD/LWD environment.
· Education: Post-secondary degree (Engineering or Petroleum preferred).
· Technical Skills: Strong mechanical aptitude is required; strong computer skills are preferred.
· Physicality: Ability to lift/carry up to 100lbs and operate a forklift.

- Location: Calgary office with on-call responsibilities and travel as required.
- Compliance: Valid driver’s license (clean record) and ability to pass a pre-employment background check and drug/alcohol screen.
