About the Opportunity
We are currently seeking an Assistant Service Manager to join our team in Courtenay, B.C.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Service Advisor or service leader looking to take the next step in their career. Working closely with the Branch Manager, you will provide day-to-day leadership of the Service Department while remaining actively involved in customer service and Service Desk operations.
You will coordinate workflow, support technicians and Service Advisors, monitor department performance, resolve customer concerns, and provide operational leadership to ensure the Service Department operates safely, efficiently, and profitably while maintaining exceptional customer service. You will also provide operational support to the Service Desk as required to maintain workflow, customer service standards, and business continuity.
About You
You are an organized, customer-focused leader who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment. You communicate effectively, make sound decisions, and know how to keep a service department operating efficiently while building positive relationships with employees and customers.
The ideal candidate will have:
- 3-5 years of experience in a heavy-duty, commercial transport, automotive, equipment, or fleet service environment
- Experience as a Service Advisor, Service Coordinator, Shop Foreman, Assistant Service Manager, or similar leadership role
- Strong understanding of service department operations and repair order management
- Excellent communication, leadership, and customer service skills
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and time management abilities
- Experience using dealership or service management software
- Valid Class 5 Driver's Licence
Experience as a Heavy Duty Technician, Commercial Transport Mechanic, or Automotive Technician would be considered an asset but is not required.
