Duties
- Plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities that promote early childhood learning and creativity
- Support children’s social skills by encouraging positive interactions and conflict resolution
- Observe and assess each child's progress, documenting milestones and areas needing additional support
- Foster a welcoming environment that respects diversity and promotes inclusion for all children
- Collaborate with families to share insights on their child's development and address individual needs
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized classroom environment aligned with health and safety standards
- Use computer skills to update records, prepare reports, and communicate effectively with team members
Requirements
- Proven experience working with children in early childhood settings or childcare environments
- Knowledge of child development principles, early childhood education techniques, and special education needs
- Bilingual proficiency in French and English is highly desirable to support diverse families
- Strong communication skills to engage effectively with children, parents, colleagues, and community partners
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or special needs is an asset
- Excellent organizational skills to manage classroom activities, schedules, and documentation efficiently
- Ability to operate computers and relevant software for record keeping and communication purposes
- Demonstrated leadership qualities with the ability to guide children confidently while fostering independence
- Valid certifications in childcare or early childhood education as required by local regulations
