Junior Technician | Home Automation Installer
Blackbridge Systems is a custom home automation and low-voltage systems company based in Cambridge, Ontario. We design, install, and support smart home and commercial systems, with a focus on high-quality workmanship, reliable technology, and a clean client experience.
Our work includes home automation, audio/video, networking, lighting control, alarm systems, security, surveillance, and related smart home technology. We work closely with homeowners, businesses, builders, designers, and trades to deliver systems that are reliable, easy to use, and professionally installed.
We are looking for a Junior Technician to support our installation team on residential and commercial projects. This is a hands-on role suited for someone who is reliable, mechanically inclined, comfortable using tools, and interested in learning the smart home and low-voltage industry.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist technicians with smart home, audio/video, networking, alarm, and surveillance installations
- Assist with wall-mounted TVs, speakers, equipment racks, and low-voltage devices
- Pull, label, organize, and terminate low-voltage wiring
- Help with tool load-in, tool load-out, deliveries, and job site cleanup
- Move boxes, equipment, tools, and materials as needed
- Work on ladders and assist with installations at heights
- Follow direction from the Lead Technician or Project Manager
- Complete basic daily field reporting and job notes
- Interact professionally with clients, builders, contractors, and other trades
- Travel to client sites as required
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned
What We’re Looking For:
- Comfortable working with hand tools and power tools
- Strong technical aptitude and a genuine interest in learning smart home technology
- Reliable, punctual, and willing to learn
- Able to work in a fast-paced job site environment
- Good communication and problem-solving skills
- Professional and respectful with clients, teammates, and trades
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical work throughout the day
- Comfortable working on ladders and at heights
- Clean driving record and ability to pass a background check
Requirements:
- Valid driver’s licence with no restrictions preferred
- Certification in working at heights (Training paid by employer)
- Elevated Lift Platform (Training paid by employer)
- Experience with tools, construction, trades, low-voltage wiring, or home technology is an asset
- Training may be provided for the right candidate
Job Type: Part-time
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday
- 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
- 2 to 5 days per week, depending on project schedule
Pay:
$21.00 to $25.00 per hour, depending on experience
