Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Activation Aide to join our team, supporting the well-being and engagement of residents in a senior care environment. The ideal candidate will possess a genuine passion for enhancing quality of life through meaningful activities and personalized care. As an Activation Aide, you will play a vital role in creating a vibrant, inclusive atmosphere that promotes social interaction, mental stimulation, and emotional support for residents with diverse needs.
Responsibilities
- Assist in planning, organizing, and implementing engaging activities tailored to residents’ interests, abilities, and health conditions.
- Provide compassionate support to residents with assisted living needs, including those with dementia or cognitive impairments.
- Collaborate with nursing staff and caregivers to ensure activities align with individual care plans and safety protocols.
- Foster an inclusive environment by encouraging participation and socialization among residents.
- Maintain activity supplies and ensure the activity space remains clean, organized, and welcoming.
- Document resident participation and response to activities to inform ongoing care strategies.
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and team members to promote understanding of activity benefits and resident preferences.
Experience
- Previous experience working in assisted living facilities or nursing homes is highly desirable.
- Background in senior care or caregiving roles that involve direct interaction with elderly or disabled individuals.
- Familiarity with dementia care techniques and working with individuals experiencing memory loss or cognitive decline.
- Experience supporting individuals with disabilities or special needs through recreational or therapeutic activities.
- Strong communication skills to effectively connect with residents of varying abilities and backgrounds.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of best practices in elder care, including person-centered approaches and safety standards.
