Parts Technician
Kidco Construction is a complete construction solutions company specializing in residential earthworks, underground utility excavation, and basement excavation for large‑scale residential, commercial, and municipal projects throughout Calgary, Alberta. With nearly four decades of experience, Kidco delivers end‑to‑end construction solutions, from initial site preparation and infrastructure installation through to foundation excavation, hauling, and equipment support.
We are seeking an additional Parts Technician to join our growing maintenance team.
Our Ideal Candidate

2+ years of experience as a Parts Technician in the heavy construction industry or a related field.

Fluent in English, both written and oral.

Holds a Class 5 Driver’s License with a clean driver’s abstract.

Experience with forklifts, skid steers, and small cranes (an asset).

Experience with E360 and CAT ET/SIS are both considered assets.

Strong sense of urgency, self-starter, and able to prioritize workload.

Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Proficient computer skills.

Capable of performing some heavy lifting.
Key Responsibilities
-
Order, track, dispense, and manage parts inventories for various machines and equipment, including heavy equipment, on-road trucking, skid steers, truck fleet, signage, and safety items.

Handle incoming parts inquiries from internal (shop) and external (field) heavy-duty mechanics via phone, email, or in person.

Maintain accurate records and detailed orders regarding parts requirements.

Coordinate deliveries with parts drivers.

Suggest suitable substitutes or alternatives when timelines, pricing, or availability are barriers.

Perform general housekeeping of the parts department, including stocking parts.

Pick parts orders for PM work orders.

Conduct inventory counts as required.

Dispatch delivery drivers to pick up and deliver parts as needed.
Typical Schedule
-
Monday to Friday: 10–12 hours
-
Saturdays: 8 hours (alternating weekends)

Overtime Pay: After 8 hours each day and 44 hours per week
