Business Development and Operations Manager
$30 per hour + 2% commission per job landed
Showman Custom Painting is a well-established Vancouver-based company specializing in high-quality residential and commercial painting, small renovations, and general contracting work throughout the Lower Mainland.
We are looking for a motivated Business Development and Operations Manager to join our small, tight-knit team. This is a hybrid role where you will drive new business by generating leads and outreach to strata buildings and property management companies, while also handling day-to-day operations including talking to clients, estimating job sites, and scheduling our painting crews.
Key Responsibilities
- Generate and build a pipeline of leads targeting strata buildings, property management companies (such as Rancho, FirstService, Associa), and strata councils across the Lower Mainland
- Make high-volume cold calls, send personalized emails, and use LinkedIn to reach property managers and strata presidents
- Qualify leads and book site visits or consultation meetings
- Speak directly with clients (phone and in-person) to understand their needs, provide quotes, and follow up on proposals
- Visit job sites to assess work required and prepare accurate estimates for painting, renovation, and contracting projects
- Schedule workers, coordinate job timelines, and manage daily operations to keep projects running smoothly and on time
- Track all leads, follow-ups, estimates, and activity in our CRM
- Stay on top of strata maintenance cycles and budgeting periods (especially spring and summer painting seasons) to time outreach effectively
Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience in sales/business development AND hands-on estimating or operations in painting, renovations, or construction
- Comfortable with cold calling, client communication, and appointment setting
- Strong knowledge of painting materials, labor costs, and the Lower Mainland market (especially strata properties)
- Excellent English communication skills – clear and professional on the phone and in person
- Experience using a CRM system and staying organized with high-volume activity
- Valid driver’s license and reliable personal vehicle (required for site visits and meetings across the Lower Mainland)
- Self-motivated, reliable, and able to manage both sales and operational tasks in a small company environment
- High school diploma required; post-secondary education in business, sales, or construction is a plus
If you’re a go-getter who enjoys both bringing in new work and making sure jobs get done right, we’d love to hear from you!
