Job Summary
Toronto Redi-Mix is seeking a responsible Batcher/Dispatcher. This role involves batching concrete, dispatching deliveries, and scheduling ready-mix truck drivers daily based on seniority to meet customer needs.
Normal business hours are Monday to Saturday, working a flexible shift.
Additional or overtime hours as per business requirements – flexibility (including weekends) required with significant time investment during peak periods and when workload necessitates.
Key Responsibilities
- Batch/dispatch concrete
- Loading of ready-mix trucks
- Order taking and logistics of concrete delivery
- Assist dispatcher with the scheduling of ready-mix trucks
- Manage the ready-mix truck drivers
- Order materials for daily operations
- Liaison between customer and QC staff for on-site testing of the concrete
- Responsible for maintaining and organizing documentation of all drivers
Qualifications/Requirements
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written in the English language)
- Computer Proficiency – experience with Microsoft Office and Google Maps
- Superb phone skills – able to handle calls in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent customer service, organizational, and time management skills
- Punctual and efficient
- Ability to make effective decisions and judgements.
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Capable of handling pressure and remaining calm in a high-stress environment
- Conflict resolution skills (able to defuse problems and conflicts)
- Self-motivated and able to work independently and in a team environment
- Ability to multitask and prioritize
