Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and energetic Red Seal licensed Industrial Millwright to join our manufacturing facility team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing machinery and equipment to ensure optimal production performance. Your expertise will help keep our operations running smoothly, safely, and efficiently. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and possesses a strong mechanical background with experience in industrial maintenance and electrical systems.
Responsibilities
- Ensure maximum reliability and uptime of production equipment
- Conduct installation, maintenance and repair of machinery and plant equipment
- Assist in plant breakdowns and shutdowns including dismantling
- Install, align, and assemble industrial machinery using schematics, technical drawings, and blueprints.
- Perform preventative maintenance on equipment, including hydraulics, pneumatics
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues
- Experience with pumps/vacuum pumps, machining, welding, fabricating, compressors, heat exchangers, chillers, water towers, electric motor and some electrical troubleshooting
- Repair or replace defective parts using
- Conduct inspections of machinery to identify potential problems before failure occurs; document findings in CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System).
- Operate equipment such as scissor lifts and forklifts safely to access high or hard-to-reach areas.
- Follow safety procedures rigorously to adhere to all OSHA standards.
- Analyze equipment performance data to recommend improvements or necessary repairs for continuous manufacturing efficiency.
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections for compliance and operational tracking.
Skills
- Must have Canadian Certificate of Completion (hands on job training plus classroom of apprenticeship (no challenging of exam)
- Trade Certification/Diploma - Red Seal licensed
- Extensive experience in an industrial millwright role within a manufacturing facility environment. Preferably in a plastic extrusion, printing, CNC routers and milling environment
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems including hydraulics, pneumatics
- Proficiency with schematics, technical drawings, and troubleshooting
- Hands-on welding skills, welding techniques; capable of fabricating or repairing metal components.
- Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), Robot, CMMS software, and analysis skills for diagnosing complex machinery issues.
- Ability to operate scissor lifts, forklifts safely; valid certifications preferred.
- Excellent customer service skills when interacting with internal teams or external contractors
- Strong mechanical aptitude complemented by the ability to read schematics and technical manuals accurately.
