As a Production Engineering Student, you'll support the team responsible for turning ship designs into practical, efficient build plans that enable safe, high-quality construction. Working alongside experienced professionals, you'll gain exposure to shipbuilding through activities such as build strategy development, manufacturing and installation planning, production support, data preparation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
This opportunity is ideal for students interested in engineering, manufacturing, or industrial environments who are eager to apply their classroom learning, develop practical skills, and contribute to the construction of some of Canada's most advanced ships.

- Currently enrolled in a 4-year Engineering degree program.
- 0-2 years’ experience.
- General awareness of shipyard disciplines (hull structure, ship arrangements, ship piping systems, propulsion, HVAC, electrical, mechanical, producibility, manufacturing) considered an asset.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, openness to learning.
- Ability to read blueprints, navigate within a 3D model of the ship and production information.
- Experience in AutoCad (2D/3D) preferred.
- Skilled in organizing and managing a variety of tasks with varying priorities and is a fast learner and effective problem solver.
Due to the nature of work Irving Shipbuilding does, all successful applicants must meet requirements for the Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), Canadian Government Security clearance, and U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
Please note this position requires a full-time, in-office presence.
